October 2026
Fast. Predictable. Agent-Native.
Welcome to the latest edition of The Stable Standard, where we share updates across Stable and the broader shift toward stablecoin-native financial infrastructure.
From a mainnet upgrade that strengthens network security to the STABLE listing on Coinbase, the arrival of PYUSD, and new enterprise payment capabilities, October marked steady progress across Stable’s infrastructure and ecosystem.
Completed the Stable Mainnet v1.9.0 upgrade, strengthening protocol security, reliability, and network resilience.
STABLE went live on Coinbase, opening access to the token for users in supported regions.
PayPal USD (PYUSD) became available on Stable, adding another stablecoin option available for onchain payments and settlement.
Spotlighted Guaranteed Blockspace, which provides reserved execution capacity for eligible enterprise USDT payment operations.
Expanded payment access in Brazil through Pods Finance and Pix, while engaging with industry leaders during TOKEN2049 Singapore week.
On October 31, Stable Mainnet underwent its v1.9.0 upgrade, introducing additional safeguards for transaction execution, network resilience, and staking operations.
The upgrade addresses security issues identified in the underlying Cosmos EVM infrastructure, helping keep stablecoin payments and settlement secure and uninterrupted.
Key improvements include:
Transaction Execution Security: Introduces additional safeguards to address vulnerabilities affecting EVM transaction processing.
Network Resilience: Strengthens protections against potential disruptions, supporting more reliable network operations.
Staking Operations: Improves safeguards around fund handling during staking-related activities.
These enhancements reinforce Stable’s infrastructure for secure, high-performance payments and settlement, meeting the needs of enterprises and financial institutions operating onchain.

STABLE is now available on Coinbase.com and the Coinbase app, expanding access through one of the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchanges. Users in supported regions can now buy, sell, convert, send, receive, and hold STABLE directly through Coinbase.
The listing marks another milestone for Stable’s growing ecosystem, making the token more accessible to a broader global audience.

On October 8, PayPal USD became available on Stable. Issued by Paxos with cross-chain interoperability powered by LayerZero, PYUSD expands the dollar-denominated assets available for payments and settlement applications on the network.
This gives developers, businesses, and users another established stablecoin option alongside Stable’s USDT-native infrastructure, supporting faster onchain payments and settlement.

For enterprises managing time-sensitive USDT payments, predictable execution capacity is an important infrastructure requirement. Stable’s Guaranteed Blockspace provides reserved network capacity for eligible enterprise payment operations, reducing exposure to fluctuations in public network demand.
The capability supports use cases including exchange withdrawals, merchant settlements, payroll, and cross-border treasury transfers. By providing a dedicated execution route for eligible transactions, Guaranteed Blockspace strengthens Stable’s infrastructure for high-volume USDT payments and settlement.

In the latest edition of Stable Thesis, we explored how the Visa Direct integration and the addition of PayPal USD (PYUSD) strengthen different layers of global stablecoin payment infrastructure.
From expanding access to global payout networks to supporting greater stablecoin flexibility, these developments contribute to a broader infrastructure stack connecting stablecoin assets, onchain settlement, and global payment distribution.

October brought continued momentum across Stable’s ecosystem, with a focus on expanding stablecoin utility, strengthening infrastructure, and supporting the growing community of developers, enterprises, and users.
Through Pods Finance’s integration with Pix, fintechs and neobanks can offer BRL onramps directly into the Stable ecosystem. This connects Brazil’s widely used instant payment system with onchain financial applications, making it easier for businesses and users to access stablecoin infrastructure.
